Helicobacter Pylori (H Pylori) infection occurs when this bacteria infects your stomach. This usually happens during childhood. A common cause of stomach ulcers or peptic ulcers is H Pylori Virus which may be present in almost half of the world population.
Even though many people would have H Pylori bacteria in their body but they may not develop any symptoms for the same. If you feel a burning sensation in the stomach, pain abdomen or vomitting then you might get tested for the same. Most common test for this condition is Upper GI Endoscopy in which the Gastroenterologist would insert a thin tube from your mouth into your stomach. Through this the doctor would get a tissue sample from the site of stomach ulcer. This tissue can be tested in the laboratory to find the presence of H Pylori Bacteria. A peptic ulcer is a sore on the lining of the stomach (gastric ulcer) or the first part of the small intestine (duodenal ulcer). H. pylori infection is treated with antibiotics.

If H Pylori Infection is present in the stomach, the body will produce antibodies to fight this infection. Anti H Pylori Antibody test is done to measure the presence of these antibodies in the blood. If the antibodies are present in higher numbers than normal then this confirms the H Pylori infection in the body and the treating doctor can start a course of antibiotics on the basis of this test's result. This test measures IgG antibody produced by the immune system in response to H. pylori infection.
At Maurya Labs this test is done on the most advanced fully automatic immunoassay analyzer and the report is given on the same day.
