What does the Food Allergy Test Measure ?
Food allergy tests primarily measure the presence and amount of immunoglobulin E (IgE) antibodies in the blood, which are produced by the immune system in response to specific food allergens. This test help identify potential allergic reactions by detecting the body's immune response to various foods.
Why should I do the Food Allergy Test ?
Your doctor may request an allergy test if you show signs and symptoms of allergies, especially if they are not being treated by over-the-counter medications and after taking the precautions recommended by your doctor. These symptoms include:

How is the Food Allergy Test Done ?
A blood sample is taken from the patient through a vein in this test. It is then sent to a laboratory for testing to find the level of antibody IgE in the blood. This may take up to a few days. The sample for the test can be collected free of cost from the home or can be given at the lab itself.
Can I eat something before the test or fasting is needed ?
For food allergy test at Maurya Labs you don't need to be fasting. In fact you can eat something before the test but avoid any food that has caused an allergic reaction in the past.
